Buyin' A Beardie
Welcome to the Kayne Kennels home
of the Bouncin’ Beardie. We breed Bearded Collies and are
anxious to share our love for these animals with anyone who is
interested. If you have any questions that I have not answered
here please feel free to email or call.
1. We try to breed the best puppies
that we know how. ALWAYS attempting to learn more in the process.
2. We always try to look at the
potential of the puppies we produce. There is no perfect dog and
we will attempt to let you know any strong points or weak points
that we are aware of in the pup you are interested in or in his
ancestors.
3. We try to match the puppy with
the purchaser, always trying to find the very best home for each
pup and the best companion for each purchaser. This includes
attempting to fulfill your expressed desires. If we seem to ask a
lot of questions this is the reason. But, please realize that
puppies do not come made to order off a production line. It is
sometimes necessary to wait for a while for the exact animal you
want.
4. We encourage visitors. Feel free
to call to see if we are home and come out to see us, stay as long
as you like and ask all the questions you like. We do not clean
the dogs up for company, you see them just the way they are every
day. As I also do not clean up the house for company and it is the
home of several Beardies, so do not expect too much from it
either.
5. We want to provide continuing
service to all of our Beardie families, we are always willing and
anxious to be consulted about problems and try our best to answer
all questions to the best of our ability.
6. All of our puppies are
guaranteed; they are healthy on the date of delivery, they will
fit into your life style and fulfill the purpose for which they
are acquired (given a little time). They will remain free of
genetic defects that will render them unsuitable for the purpose
for which they were acquired.
7. Our guarantee is backed up by a
refund or replacement arrangement.
8. Prior Beardie families always
get first consideration in the acquisition of new puppies.
9. A dog is a living breathing
responsibility that we take seriously. So the welfare of the dog
must come first. The right to determine which dog will be
available for sale to a particular family is reserved by the
breeder. Of course, the decision whether to purchase that dog is
the buyers.
Our price list follows. If you have
contacted other breeders you know that we are priced below almost
all of them. So, you may ask why. Answer: I simply believe that
the prices we charge are fair.

Also, if you have contacted other
breeders you have also probably been asked to sign very
restrictive contracts which may require you to show the puppy and
probably require that finish its championship. The contract may
also require that you allow the breeder to visit your home to
inspect the dog periodically. I do not require such contracts.
We have shipped dogs by airplane
from Texas to Alaska with no problems. Shipping charges are the
responsibility of the purchaser; however, I shop carefully for the
lowest price consistent with the safety and well-being of the dog.
We will ship in our crate with a refundable $50 deposit.
As we sometimes do not have
sufficient puppies to satisfy everyone, to avoid misunderstandings
we ask for a $50 deposit. Deposits are dated when they come in and
requests for pups are filled in the order in which the deposits
are received. It is common with most of the Beardie Breeders,
including us, to have deposits on a substantial portion of the
litter before it is born. This is at least partly because the
Beardie is still a rare breed. We do try very hard to match the
pup to your needs and requirements. If there is no pup out of a
litter which meets these parameters I will not send it. You would
have the option of waiting for a pup from another litter or of
having your deposit returned. I do not take deposits unless I am
reasonably sure that I will have puppies available to take care of
everyone; however, the girls always seem to know if I have
deposits only on males and they produce all females or vice versa.
However, we usually are able to work out any problems. I just get
on the phone with everyone and we get it all worked out.
A large number of my buyers come
out of repeat business or referrals and certainly the best
advertising is having your families happy and their dogs happy. A
poor dog of your breeding cannot but hurt you and the owner of
that dog is certainly not going to be a good reference for you.
Again, I must remind you, puppies do not come off an assembly line
made to order. If you find another pup before I can supply one, I
will refund the deposit.

We expect puppies to be paid for in
full before delivery of the pup. However, we do make financing
arrangements. Papers are retained until the pup is paid for in
full. Puppies which are sold as pets are provided with AKC limited
registration. This provides that no puppies produced by this pup
will be eligible for registration. However, we do recommend that
the pups be neutered as it is better for their health.
We also have our vet install the
microchip which permanently identifies the individual dog with
"Home Again". You simply fill out the papers and send
them to AKC - the dog wears a tag and if lost, most animal
shelters and vets have microchip readers and you will hopefully
get a call telling you to come and get your wandering pet.
